B.Sc. Civil Engineering
I studied my bachelors degree in Civil Engineering at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies (ITESM) in my beautiful hometown at Queretaro, Mexico. During my studies, I took the general required civil engineering courses although with a particular focus in structural engineering. My passion for this sub-specialty pushed me to travel to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver for my international exchange studies with a fully paid scholarship, where I discovered my interest in seismic and lateral design of infrastructure as well as my intent to pursue a masters degree.
Some of the more specialized courses that I took in my home university and during my exchange include the following
- Reinforced concrete design (ITESM)
- Steel design (ITESM)
- Advanced steel design (UBC)
- Design of masonry structures (UBC)
- Matrix structural analysis and dynamics (UBC)
- Introduction to ship structures (UBC)
- Legal aspects of Civil Engineering (UBC)
